Cheese Macaroni by BlueBand

  • 50 gram Blue Band margarine
  • 25 gram plain flour
  • 400 ml milk
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • 120 gram cheddar
  • 120 gram mozzarella
  • 250 gram macaroni
Margarine fried breadcrumbs
  • 20 gram Planta margarine
  • 50 gram panko breadcrumbs
  1. In a pot of boiling water, add 1 tbsp of salt and 250g of macaroni. Boil for 6 minutes, drain and set aside.
  2. In a wide pot over medium heat, add 50g BlueBand margarine and heat until melted. Add in plain flour and mix well until a smooth roux forms. Cook until lightly browned.
  3. Add in milk, mix well and bring to a boil. Season with salt, paprika. Add in cheddar, mozzarella and mix until melted and smooth.
  4. Add in cooked macaroni and mix evenly.
  5. In a pan over medium heat, melt 20g BlueBand margarine. Add in panko bread crumbs and fry them until golden brown.
  6. Scoop macaroni and cheese into a serving dish, top off with fried bread crumbs and serve.
